Frank serves CRI as the tax scholar-in-residence. In addition to serving as a technical resource for tax issues, he is charged with tax education throughout the firm’s tax practice.
Dr. Messina is well-known for his expertise regarding cooperative taxation and has served on the national education committee of the National Society of Cooperative Accountants (NSAC) for more than 25 years. He also has edited their national journal, “The Cooperative Accountant”, for the last 15 years.
Dr. Messina is also a professor and former chair of the department of accounting and finance at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2014, he was endowed by the University of Alabama Board of Trustees as an Alumni & Friends Professor of Accounting at UAB. He also serves UAB currently as their Faculty Athletics Representative to the NCAA.
