Despite what many people believe, fraud in NFP organizations is quite prevalent – from national organizations to the local church. This presentation covers the characteristics of fraudsters based on annual surveys and relevant data as well as the results/impact of fraud on NFP entities.
The “fraud triangle” is covered as well as Board responsibilities. Finally, the top 10 fraud prevention actions are reviewed – better to prevent fraud before it occurs than to try to find it afterward.
An overview of the various significant parts of the Form 990, including the required schedules. Begins with the background for the form followed by filing requirements/deadlines. Descriptions of each part and the pertinent data for properly preparing and filing this important information return with the IRS. Being a public document, the Form 990 may be the only document that many donors and other 3rd parties ever see on a NFP organization, so the proper preparation should be stressed with organization management.
This presentation will explore the different modules of the TeamMate application suite. Attendees will acquire the necessary skills to contribute to a TeamEWP project by importing, linking, and signing off on audit evidence. Additionally, they will learn how to document findings using the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA’s) elements of a finding documentation standard, generate an audit report from a TeamEWP project, and follow‐up on findings using TeamCentral.
