Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI) Welcomes New Partners
ENTERPRISE, AL – (DECEMBER 12, 2011)
– Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC (CRI), ranked as the 32nd largest
accounting firm nationally and 3rd largest in the South, welcomes
eight new partners: Melissa Barnes, CPA; Candy Cunard, CPA; Scott Ferguson,
CPA; David Mills, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, CTGA, MCSE; Brent Pagragan, CPA; Stephen
C. Riggs IV, CPA; Michael Whitney, CPA, and Stanley Walls, MCSE, MCP+I, ISCE .
Barnes, now a CRI partner in the Enterprise office, has nearly 10 years of
diversified experience providing accounting, auditing, and tax services. She
primarily serves investment companies, not-for-profit organizations, publicly
traded companies, and governmental entities throughout Alabama. Additionally,
Melissa also offers specialized expertise in the area of employee benefit plan
(EBP) audits including defined contribution (401k and 403b) and defined benefit
pension plans.
CRI partner Cunard is in the Destin office and provides auditing and consulting
services to homeowner associations (HOA) and condominium associations throughout
Florida. Cunard’s expertise includes managing year-end tax and accounting
services for condominium associations and homeowner associations, as well as
performing benchmarking ratios for associations that allow them to identify
areas for improving efficiencies. She also holds a current Certified Association
Management (CAM) License in the State of Florida.
Now a partner in CRI’s Orlando office, Ferguson offers more than 14 years of
experience. He provides accounting, auditing, and assurance services to
corporate clients in the construction, real estate, and hospitality industries
throughout Central Florida. He also specializes in employee benefit plan (EBP)
audits for plan types including defined benefit plans, and defined contribution
plans (401k and 403b).
Mills is a CRI IT consulting partner in the Enterprise office. With more than 20
years of experience, he conducts various IT audits and IT assessments including
Sarbanes Oxley (SoX), Gramm Leach Bliley, Federal Financial Institutions
Examination Council (FFICE), Banking Secrecy Act, SSAE 16, SOC-2, SOC-3,
TG3/TR-39, IT security, penetration testing, and privacy audits.
As a partner in the New Orleans office of CRI, Pagragan provides a variety of
accounting and auditing services to manufacturing and distribution companies,
financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and construction companies
throughout the Southeastern Louisiana area. Additionally, Pagragan specializes
in performing employee benefit plan (EBP) audits.
Another CRI partner in the Destin office, Riggs, focuses on delivering
accounting services to Floridian entities including governmental entities (both
municipalities and counties), hospitality companies, and common interest realty
associations (CIRA). Additionally, he also offers specialty services in areas
such as condominium and homeowner association audits, hospitality accounting,
and hotel audits.
New CRI partner Whitney hails from Tallahassee and utilizes more than 25 years
of diversified audit and tax experience to serve clients in not-for-profit
organizations, governmental entities, and manufacturing and distribution
companies. As a part of the firm’s governmental audit team, Whitney participates
in Florida municipal audits, Florida county audits, and other Florida
governmental agency audits. Formerly a county treasurer, he offers unique
expertise derived from participating in both sides of a governmental audit
engagement.
CRI corporate partner Walls serves as CRI’s Director of Information Systems. He
has 15 years of experience in building and managing technology solutions, and
27 years of diversified engineering/IT experience in the areas of design,
project management, systems deployment, network development and administration.
In his role as CRI Director of Information Systems, Walls is responsible for all
internal technology operations, IT strategic planning, network infrastructure,
and hosting services for the firm.
